ECG is an ecumenical network connecting individuals, groups and organisations in different parts of Europe. We are working to bring together different projects on local level, involving grassroots groups, workers, churches and ecumenical organisations. Collaboration with civil society including trade unions, self-organisations and voluntary associations is central to our work. ECG is engaged with the issues of unemployment and poverty, precarious work, working conditions and working life, discrimination, gender, migration, urban and rural community development, etc. Our aims Engage with work & employment issues with a special focus on changing working conditions,industrial restructuring, impact of new technologies and working models and the growth of precarious, informal and non-legal labour The starting point is local people, their involvement and strengths, their issues and problems. Our projects are built upon their needs and priorities, they aim to enhance their capacities and provide them contacts to people in simmilar situation in different regions or different countries in Europe. Our work is focussed on communication, community building and support for workers and unemployed people. ECG supports local initiatives and the national networks linked to it. It is an 'inter-local' network active in every region of Europe, bringing together local people and local projects from different European countries. The network promotes the exchange of experience, knowledge & effective strategies. What can ECG offer?
